Dr Babak Tamjid

Dr Babak Tamjid graduated from medical school with an M.D. degree in 2006. He completed his basic physician training at Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2011. Before commencing his training in oncology, he obtained another one and a half year of experience in General Medicine as an advanced physician trainee at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
He completed his training in oncology through the Victorian Medical Oncology Training Group in two major teaching hospitals including Austin and Box Hill Hospital. He has also worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at the Austin Hospital when he started to be involved in a huge number of phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical trials. He received Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Medical Oncology in 2015.
He currently Medical Oncology Consultant positions at Peninsula Health and Goulburn Valley Health as well as Locum Medical Oncologist in a number of private Melbourne hospitals. He has also been appointed as an Honorary Lecturer at the Department of Rural Health, University of Melbourne.
Dr Tamjid has a keen interest in research. He has published in a number of peer review journals. He continues to actively participate and present in multiple national and international conferences.
Dr Tamjid is a General Oncologist with special interests in gastrointestinal, breast, melanoma and genitourinary cancers. He follows new advances in Oncology very closely and he has great experience and interest in use of immunotherapy for treating various cancers.
